DIAZ X MACHIDA? Dana White offers the chance Nick Diaz returning to the UFC against Lyoto Machida

Manager reveals offer to California to face the Brazilian middleweight



Retired from the UFC octagon, Nick Diaz received an offer from the organization's president, Dana White, to return to the events of the franchise. Boston to accompany the UFC Fight Night 26, the agent revealed that the Californian offered a duel against Brazilian Lyoto Machida, previously speculated to face Vitor Belfort.

Dana White said he thought a fight between Nick and Machida at middleweight. With that, the two fighters had to change category - the American was among the welterweight and would have to rise, while the Dragon acted in the light heavyweight division and would do the opposite, reducing.

"I talked to Nick Diaz and offered a fight against Lyoto Machida," reported the officer in a question and answer session with fans in Boston, as part of promoting the event this Saturday. "Nick and Lyoto have been talking about moving to the middleweights, and let's see if Nick wants to fight Machida," he added.

Lyoto Machida was speculated as the likely opponent Vitor Belfort at UFC first to be confirmed to Goiania in November. Then Dana White revealed that the duel between the Brazilians could occur in issue 167, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the organization, in 19 of the same month in Las Vegas. Now came the possibility of the Dragon face Nick Diaz in the middleweight showdown.

Nick Diaz, known for controversial inside and outside the Octagon, as no interviews and provocations against opponents left the Octagon after his loss to Canadian Georges St. Pierre, issue 158 in March this year. On occasion, the Californian was largely dominated and lost by unanimous decision, with the champion retaining the belt in a welterweight.
