- For me (Bellator) is a great organization to work for. I'm there from the beginning, and they almost made me be the fighter I am. I would not have gotten the exposure that I have or would I have your attention, and Bellator gave me this opportunity. Any negative opinion about Bellator now, I do not like to hear. They are doing great things and getting better.

Pat Curran has played ten fights in his current organization, with nine wins and one defeat. Before you go down the path of success in featherweight, had a passage by light-weight and was defeated by Eddie Alvarez then champion. Then Alvarez lost the title, and today in court fight with Bellator to get signing with the UFC.

- I can not put myself in the position (Alvarez) because I'm not there yet. Bellator gave me the opportunity to re-sign and renegotiate the contract, and we are in the process of renewing it. I'm talking to Bjorn (Rebney, CEO) personally and we are reaching a new agreement. Other fighters are in a different situation and would deal differently from me. But I'm happy to be with Bellator. They are taking great care of me and have no problem to renew the contract - said Curran.

After taking the title from Joe Warren in March 2012, Pat Curran defended his belt against Patricio Pitbull (January 2013) and Shahbulat Shamhalaev (April 2013). He now hopes Daniel Straus recovering from a broken hand to fight again.

Against accidental blows, CFU starts development of new gloves

Foto: Divulgação/UFCThe large number of competitors beaten around the eyes during the UFC 159 drew the attention of the directors of the company for the need to develop new gloves. In the event of April 27, Vinny Magalhaes, Gian Villante and Alan Belcher eventually reached on the spot and in the case of the latter two, their matches were halted. In an interview with ESPN Radio 710 in Los Angeles, the organization's president stated that new gloves are in development to minimize the risk of accidental blows prohibited.

Dana White:"We actually already started working on a new glove that your hand curve. The type, the glove is curved like a 'U', then you can still open the hand, but the fingers do not point straight out. "

White listed the problems faced with the issue including Boxing, calling for extra attention from competitors to strike, holding hands closed, minimizing the risk of contact with the eyes of rival.

With a Glove Boxing existed several episodes of accidents involving the big toe in the 70s and 80s. The gloves that looked like lobster claws resulted in many problems, that's why you have to make the toe connected. I just can not imagine how it could be done when we think there is in MMA grappling. In fact, the personnel must keep your damn hands closed. You can not move your hand towards the opponent's face with her open.

In recent years the UFC has been trying to improve its rules, both inside and outside the Octagon, whenever any great controversy arises. Since a greater control over the doping, to the definition of the main event fights, not even worth belt, have a duration of five rounds to a hunt against any cheaters who use TRT in order to obtain benefits, indicate the disposition the company's direction in solving the main problem encountered in mode, without displaying the stillness present in other sports.

Fight between Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen UFC attraction can be on August 17

Loudmouth tries to promote fight against "Mad dog" in Boston

Divulgação
According to the renowned American journalist Dave Meltzer, host of Wrestling Observer Radio, the UFC plans to marry a clash between Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen for Aug. 17 in Boston. The fight would headline the first edition of Ultimate in partnership with Fox Sports 1, which will debut in the United States on the very day of the event.

"Chael Sonnen began to cause Wanderlei Silva in order to warm the climate for a possible fight. He was instructed to do so, because the UFC wants to make this duel in Boston. This would be a great event and could yield an audience exorbitant. Wanderlei is a very appealing guy, MMA fans love him. And Sonnen knows how to promote a fight. I do not know will be exciting, but it sure is a sure bet for TV, "said Meltzer.

Defeated in a title fight against Jon Jones at UFC 159, Chael Sonnen said in press conference that could retire. However, the loudmouth suddenly changed his mind and, last Tuesday, expressed the interest to face Wanderlei Silva.

"He called me before, but the fight never made sense, because I was a candidate challenging and he just some guy on the card. Now I think that fight has a little more sense. I will not let this sport. Whenever I'm asked about retirement, I never say, but I think so: I'm not going anywhere until I Wanderlei and solve this thing once and for all. "

After defeat, Chael Sonnen Wanderlei Silva challenges now.

After being knocked out last Saturday for Jon Jones, when he failed to challenge the light heavyweight belt at UFC 159, the controversial American Chael Sonnen now issued a challenge to the icon Wanderlei Silva.

In an interview with UFC Tonight program earlier this week, the loudmouth said he did not retire to settle accounts with the Brazilian. Remember that the two fighters already were surprised on social networks and sometimes Sonnen takes advantage of the situation to gain even more notoriety.

Wanderlei Silva is coming off a stunning knockout victory over American Brian Stann. The success occurred at UFC Japan that occurred on March 02 at the Saitama Super Arena, marking a return to light heavyweight (up to 93 kg).
While waiting for the definition of the next opponent, Wand travels around the world spreading the MMA and teaching their precious knowledge seminars.

Sonnen thought I had achieved everything he wanted to accomplish in his fighting career. Over three years, he became an obscure medium in one of the biggest stars in the UFC, and he did it using his mouth. Sure, he beat some of the top middleweights in the UFC ranking, but let's not kid ourselves: Sonnen is where he is today because he is a master promoter.
He received three title shots in two different divisions. Yes, he lost all three, but there are plenty of fighters that will never find yourself in a single title fight, much less three. And Sonnen was granted a final opportunity, coming off a loss, and in a division that had not competed in years.
If ever there was an example of pitch-perfect than having a big mouth can do for you, this is Sonnen. Some fighters working for years, accumulating large series of wins and great performances gathering, and yet they never came close to fighting for a belt because they are perceived as boring. They are not assertive, and so they are treated as an afterthought.Sonnen was assertive. It was ridiculous, sometimes, to be sure, but he did not wait for someone to hand you the brass ring. He came out and took it.And now, just days after being crushed by Jones at UFC 159, Sonnen is back for it. He is not retiring for life as a Fox Sports analyst, as I predicted he would. Instead, he is pulling a gun and pointing it directly at the long-time nemesis Wanderlei Silva.
Now watch one video made in 2011 by wanderlei own, showing that there is a rivalry between chael and all Brazilian fighters.
